ALE
ALE stands for Angles – Light – Emotions (three important building blocks for making photos).
The intent of the group is, amongst other things, to:
- Explore and experiment – move out of comfort zones
- Challenge – ourselves, and others in the group
- Share and compare – our work, tricks, ideas, experiences and knowledge
- Improve - our skills, visions, creativity, and with that our images
- Support and encourage – each other with our ideas
- Motivate – all of us to get out and ‘just do it’
- AND IMPORTANTLY – enjoy ourselves photographically and socially.
We meet each month and our individual contribution to these gatherings is to show other members our first, second and third or more attempts or interpretations. There is no need to bring only ‘end’ results or ‘master prints’, (although we like to see these when appropriate).
Constructive critique on all results can be rewarding for everyone – and based on past experiences we all continue to be impressed and surprised and motivated.
We all contribute ideas on determining group topics and themes and have found these shared subjects continually enhance our group community spirit and friendship. Plus just as importantly, alongside these shared challenges members present any personal projects they wish to.
One of our latest decisions is to exhibit as a group for the first time, later this year, we will keep you posted on that.
