Portrait photography – Mike Heydon

Seen as one of the country’s most exciting emerging photographers, Mike Heydon has rapidly established a portfolio of award-winning images.

His photojournalism talent was recognised when he was awarded two Qantas Media Awards and, just five months after becoming a professional photographer, Mike won the NZCNA Young Photographer of the Year.

Now based in the Wairarapa, Mike mixes freelance opportunities including photojournalism for magazines and newspapers, commercial assignments, and events and portraiture, alongside renovations to a turnof-the-century villa.
