Capture Carnival - National Photographic Competition

Professional photographers and amateur enthusiasts alike are invited to submit their favourite photographic image from the 2007 Carnival, for consideration in CAPTURE CARNIVAL, the inaugural Cuba St Carnival photographic competition.

Judged by photographic legends, Ans Westra and Luit Bieringa, top event photographer Robert Catto, the Cuba St Carnival’s Artistic Director Chris Morley-Hall and Jessica Reid, Michael Hirschfeld Gallery Curator at City Gallery Wellington, the top images will be exhibited at the Michael Hirschfeld Gallery in July 2007.

There are five year-long subscriptions to D-Photo Magazine as special commendation awards, plus printing packages for entrants judged 1st 2nd, and 3rd from Courtenay Photographics.

The Cuba St Carnival

The Cuba St Carnival presented by GOWellington is New Zealand’s largest street festival and attracts over 100,000 people from around the country. With its potent mix of music, market stalls, the award-winning Illuminated Night Parade and street performances the Carnival is a kaleidoscope of colour and action, rich with opportunities for capturing dynamic photographic images.
