Alliance Francaise International Photography Competition 2011

The Alliance Francaise organisation has over 1300 branches in some 130 countries. Each Alliance has been invited by the Fondation, the controlling organisation of all Alliances, to register and organise the “local”, first stage of the competition.

The Alliance Francaise Wellington will run a "local" stage in New Zealand. The competition – “Planet femmes" – is open to anyone, regardless of age. The objective is to photograph, what for them, best represents “woman” in their culture.

The local competition winners will represent the Alliance Francaise Wellington in the final in Paris. Forty chosen finalists from all over the world will be exhibited at the Fondation in Paris. The overall winner will travel to Paris for one week and be given exhibition space in a celebrated Parisian gallery.

The closing date for entry into the Alliance Francaise Wellington competition is Friday, 9 September. Full details and rules of the competition can be requested from concours@french.co.nz.
