Competition details
Central Region Salon
We're calling for entries to represent the Wellington Photographic Society in this year's Central Regional Convention Salon.
There are open categories for prints and digital images, and there's no requirement to make a set, so a wide range of quality images would be welcome. We haven't the time to allow for digital pre-selection of prints, so we'd need final work to be submitted if you would like to be considered for the print section. Entries would need to be submitted at the members night on Thursday, 25 August, or electronically any time before then, if you're submitting work for the digital section.
- Please limit yourself to submitting a maximum of two prints, and three digital images
- Please ensure that you provide your name, contact details, and a title if you would like. This information should be affixed to the back of any prints.
- Entries are due on the evening of the 25th August, or electronically before that date. Print entries may also be left at WPS on Vivian Street up to that date.
- All images will be classified as open.
- Prints may be mounted and matted, but the Society will do that for you, so bare prints are fine.
Here are the guidelines for each section:
Prints- Prints may be any size provided they are mounted on a base having a minimum of 400 sq. cm and a maximum of 2000 sq. cm, plus or minus 100 sq. cm. Prints must not be under glass or framed.
- Prints may be monochrome or colour process or toned or any combination thereof.
Digital Images
- Images must be saved to .jpg (JPEG) with a maximum width of 1024px and maximum height of 768px.
- It is recommended, but not essential, that images be saved in the sRGB colour space.
- The digital images shall have been exposed by the author. Any manipulation of the images should be done by the author or at the specific direction of the author. Composite images shall contain only original work of the author.
