WPS Annual Exhibition

Wednesday, 9 November – Wednesday, 23 November 2011

Closing date for submissions to the Annual Exhibition is Thursday, 11 August 2011.

Criteria for Entries

General

  • The maximum number of entries per member is two images OR one cohesive set of 2-3 images;
  • There is no minimum print size or restriction on the number of prints that make up an image;
  • Images must not have been displayed in any previous WPS print exhibition.

Images that are to be placed in WPS 16”x20” frames

  • Must be matted and/or mounted exactly 16” x 20” (406mm x 508mm) to fit the frames;
  • The maximum thickness of the mounted print must not exceed 10mm to fit the frames;
  • There is no stipulation as to mat colour.

All other images

  • Must be able to be hung on the walls of the St James Theatre gallery;
  • Must be ready (for example mounted /framed) with D-rings or hang tabs attached to hang on the St James Theatre gallery hooks;
  • Must in total be no bigger than 1016mm (40”) x 1524mm (60”) plus frame (if applicable).

The Selection

The Selector will eliminate any images that do not meet overall quality standards (as determined by the Selector).

The Selector will then choose the best image (or the set of images) from each person who has entered.

From the remaining images, the Selector will choose others for the exhibition, giving a grand total of up to 80 images (of which no more than 50 are for placing in WPS 16”x20” frames).

The Selector will choose the image most suited to the exhibition advertising poster.

Storage

Because of storage difficulties at the club venue, entries larger than 16” x 20” (406mm x 508mm) that are selected will need to be taken home by their owners on the selection night Thursday 8 September and delivered to the St James Theatre on the day of hanging (Tuesday 8 November). A digital copy (no more than 1MB) of these larger entries is to be emailed to the Publicity Officer by Sunday 18 September to enable hanging decisions to be made.

For any queries contact Margaret Hobbs, Publicity Officer, 237 0661.
