Introduction to Lightroom 2.0 – Lisa Wilson

Lisa Wilson will be giving an introduction to Lightroom 2.0. This will include navigation in Lightroom, setting up a workflow and developing images on it.
She will also give a brief introduction to Photoshop and talk about its basics. There will be a demonstration of these methods on screen based on live images.
To give an idea of what level this session should be pitched at, members are invited to e-mail their ideas on the sort of things they would like Lisa to cover to the Programme Co-ordinator, Esther Song.
Low-light photography – Robert Catto

A specialist in performing arts and live events photography, Robert Catto will be sharing with us his background as a lighting designer and how he moved into photography.
His work appears in The making of “The lord of the rings”, and the official LOTR Fan Club magazine, the LA Times, OnFilm, D-Photo, to name a few.
Not only will he give us some tips on low light photography, he will also with us his recent photos from the New Zealand Arts Festival.
This session will be very much interactive – so Robert is happy to talk about anything else that interests you.
Body of work - Grant Sheehan

Grant Sheehan is an award-winning photographer who began his working life as a survey draughtsman, making maps.
However, his great passion has always been photography and for the past 25 years, he has made it his business. He focused mainly on architecture, travel, landscape and food photography.
Grant will tell us about the two photography books that he recently published: "More Places to Stay – Hotels of the World" and "New Zealand Landscapes – Northland to Antarctica".
WPS Projected Image Competition

Our annual projected image competition is an excellent chance to showcase your work and, perhaps more importantly, to receive valuable feedback.
Our judge this year is Tony Whincup, Director of Photography at Massey University, who is also a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers.
Pathways to A Carreer in Photography – Mel Phillips

Mel Phillips will be sharing with us his background and how he got started in the photography industry. He will also talk about pathways to a career in photography and showing us his printed portfolio.
A Q&A session will follow.
