F-stop
The objective of the f-stop group is to provide a supportive environment for photographers with a wide range of experience, in which all can learn from each other to enhance and develop their skills and competency.
Each month the group meets to present and critique six images from each member on a monthly theme. Images may be captured digitally or on film, and can interpret the theme in any way the photographer chooses.
All images are presented and reviewed, and constructive feedback is provided by the group. Up to three images from each member are also selected to be included in a presentation to a full meeting of the Society at year-end.

The annual theme programme is designed to focus, stimulate and challenge members in their personal photography. Members are often taken outside their personal 'comfort zones' to shoot images or use techniques they might not otherwise confront.
Members also enjoy participating in the discussion of the images submitted each month (including their own), and learning from the way in which other members have interpreted and captured images on the themes.
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month, starting at 6.00pm and usually finishing by 7.30pm.
The monthly themes for 2012 are:
| February | Child's Play |
| March | Panning (technique) |
| April | Street Photography (genre) |
| May | Music |
| June | Commuting |
| July | Urban Decay |
| August | Faceless Portrait |
| September | Missing Pieces |
| October | Two |
| November | University (place) |
At present, f-stop is unable to accept new members as the group has reached its maximum practical size. However a second, similar group has been formed.
Spaces may become available in f-stop which will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
