Force Field – Fiona Hall
12 July - 20 October 2008, City Gallery, Civic Square
An in-depth survey of the work of one of Australia’s leading and most innovative artists. It features photography, sculpture, installation and video works from the 1970s to the present, all characterised by the inventiveness and curiosity that typify Hall’s work.
Born in Sydney and based in Adelaide, Hall began her career in photography and later extended into sculpture, installation, garden design and video.
Her work uses ordinary materials and objects which are transformed into complex and allusive art works, often through highly labour-intensive processes.
