Getting your photos on the web – Keith Miller

Keith Miller (our WPS webmaster) will talk about how to get your photos onto the internet. His talk will cover how to resize your images so that they will display well on the web as well as some of the tools you can use to have your photos on a website.
Keith has been working as a web developer in Wellington for the past 4 years.

Selection of images for WPS exhibition

The WPS Annual Exhibition is the opportunity WPS provides each year to members to display their work to the public. The exhibition will be at the St James Theatre, 77-87 Courtenay Place, first floor gallery, from
24 November to 8 December. This year’s selector will be Bruce Girdwood.
Travel photography – Chris Coad
Tuesday, 14 October, The Arts Centre, 61-69 Abel Smith Street, 7.30pm
Chris is a Wellington-based commercial and advertising photographer with special interests in landscape and marine photography. In April 2006, he was named Cathay Pacific Travel Photographer of the Year and was a runner-up in the 2007 and 2008 awards.
Come along to the talk tonight to see some stunning travel photography from China and the Australian outback and to pick up some hints and tips on how to make the most of your travel photography.
Night shoot
Monday, 22 September, The Arts Centre, 61-69 Abel Smith Street, 7.30pm
Come along to this year’s night shoot for an evening of fun and mixing with other members. The meeting will begin at the Arts Centre at 7.30pm where you will be split into teams and allocated a theme.
Teams will then disperse into the city to take photographs based on their theme. Each team will be asked to choose the top three images from the shoot for show at the next WPS meeting.
AGM & Panorama Photography – Clayton Tume
Tuesday, 9 September, The Arts Centre, 61-69 Abel Smith Street, 7.30pm
Clayton specialises in black and white panoramas, large group shots and 200 to 360 degree views, using scanning rotating cameras. Come along to the meeting to see some spectacular Wellington images taken on 12-15 inch negatives.
Clayton will also talk us through the equipment he uses and how his motorised cameras work. Not a meeting to be missed.
Before the guest speaker, we will have our AGM.
